  • Introduction: The socio-professional reintegration of people leaving prison is at the heart of many debates. Involving a reduction in the rate of recidivism and promoting better health, it appears to be the ultimate goal. Participation, and specifically, involvement in occupations necessary for life in society, is a lever for this reintegration. However, the obstacles present in detention, and upon release, are numerous and multifactorial. Objectives: The goal of this study is to identify the role of the occupational therapist in the reintegration of people leaving prison. To do this, it was necessary to identify the factors influencing occupational engagement. Method: A Delphi technique was used to identify these factors. The objective is to get a consensus of experts through successive consultations. This study was carried out with several professionals accompanying prisoners and former prisoners Results: The experts were able to highlight some factors that facilitate but also hinder the engagement of people leaving prison in activities of daily living. The importance of personal (cognitive and affective), environmental (institutional, physical, social) and occupational factors as well as their interdependence were highlighted. Conclusion: With the aim of acting on some of these factors and based on the occupational therapist's activity and skill reference frameworks, the value of an occupational therapy intervention was justified. This accompaniment, acting on the occupational commitment of the person, can thus promote his reintegration. It must be complementary to other practices and cannot replace them
