  • Context: Confinement setup to combat Covid-19 epidemic is a central part in the lives of many french people. It stops a lot of people taking part in activities thus upsetting the natural balance of their occupational balance. Students are also affected by this and must, nevertheless, continue with their studies and their normal lives, although it may be difficult sometimes in order to adapt to these exceptional circumstances. Aim: identify the impact of confinement on the students occupational balance and on their professional development process. Method: mixed analysis method is used with an online questionnaire given to all the students in occupational therapy in Toulouse along with three loosely structured interviews with one student in each course. Results: 64 students took part in the study. Confinement upset the occupational balance of this population, causing difficulties in their educational development and in their well-being. Nevertheless, during this time students’ professional development has also evolved along with their understanding of occupational concept. Conclusion: the concept of occupational balance is multidimensional and dynamic. And the pandemic not being over means a new confinement is possible. Thus, it seems worthwhile to evaluate the changing impact on the professional development through a deeper study, so as to follow up with the students in best way possible.
