question « … ».

  • The meeting between two individuals with two different cultures is called « Interculturalism ».
This could happen when occupational therapists meet children and parents with different cultures.
During this encounter, integration strategies can be adopted. It regroups all the things an individual
can do to learn more about the other’s culture while keeping his. In pediatrics, when the occupational
therapist adopts integration strategies, the relation between him, and the family and the
child may be better, so a better therapeutic adherence.
The hypothetical-deductive method and the qualitative approach have been chosen to respond to
the question : « how could interculturalism influence the family’s and child’s therapeutic adherence
to the intervention project, during care with children aged from 3 to 6 with a different
culture ? ». Four interviews with occupational therapists have been realized to collect data.
However, the responses to this question have to be nuanced : indeed, the culture isn’t the only
    factor of the therapeutic adherence.
