L’accident Vasculaire Cérébral, est la première cause de handicap acquis de l’adulte en France dont les séquelles les plus invalidantes sont l’hémiplégie et l’aphasie. L’aphasie sévère est un handicap de communication et un frein à l’accompagnement de ces patients malgré la rééducation du langage. L’objectif de cette recherche est de comprendre comment l’ergothérapeute peut faciliter la communication du patient
aphasique sévère. Quatre entretiens ont été réalisés auprès d’ergothérapeutes exerçant dans un service de soins de suite et réadaptation.
Cette enquête a montré que, pour la mise en place d’un moyen de communication, l’implication de la famille est nécessaire pour rétablir une communication avec le patient mais insuffisante pour lui permettre de communiquer. Apprendre à communiquer autrement pour le patient aphasique sévère est difficile et nécessite l’implication de tous les professionnels qui doivent être formés à une « Comm Acces Attitude ».

In France, stroke is the first cause of acquired disability for adults. The most severe after-effects are hemiplegia and aphasia. Severe aphasia is a communication disability and an obstacle to rehabilitation despite speech therapy. Survey objective is to understand how an occupational therapist can help the communication of the severely aphasic patient. Four occupational therapist working in follow up and readaptation units where interviewed. This survey has shown that the involvement of the family is necessary for the setting up of communication means, to reestablish the communication with the patients but not enough to enable them to communicate. Learning to communicate differently for the
