Suivre des études supérieures représente un enjeu majeur pour un jeune adulte. Mais lorsque s’ajoute un diagnostic de schizophrénie, il doit alors affronter de nombreux obstacles. Ce mémoire traite de la façon dont l’ergothérapeute peut soutenir l’engagement occupationnel de jeunes atteints de schizophrénie dans un projet académique, en s’appuyant sur le Modèle de l’Occupation Humaine. Grâce à une approche qualitative, basée sur des entretiens semi-directifs auprès de professionnels, ce travail étudie deux axes majeurs : l’évaluation de la volition via le Volitional Questionnaire et l’adaptation de l’environnement académique pour limiter la stigmatisation. L’analyse expose les facteurs influençant l’engagement occupationnel du jeune, et la pertinence du MOH comme guide d’intervention. Ce mémoire offre des pistes pratiques pour promouvoir un accompagnement centré sur la personne, en valorisant le pouvoir d’agir et le processus de rétablissement.

Higher education is a major challenge for young adults. But when a diagnosis of schizophrenia is added to the equation, they face many obstacles. This research explores how occupational therapists can support the occupational engagement of young people with schizophrenia in an academic project, using the Model of Human Occupation. Using a qualitative approach, based on semi-structured interviews with professionals, this study focuses on two main areas: assessing volition via the Volitional Questionnaire, and adapting the academic environment to limit the effects of stigmatization. The analysis exposes the factors influencing young people's occupational engagement, and the relevance of the MOHO as an intervention guide. This dissertation offers practical suggestions to promote person-centered support, valuing the power to act and the recovery process.
