Introduction : Les nouveau-nés hospitalisés en service de néonatologie présentent des problématiques
spécifiques pour lesquelles l’ergothérapeute peut avoir un rôle à jouer. Les compétences de celui-ci dans
ce domaine sont spécifiques. A l’étranger, la présence de ces professionnels en néonatologie ne fait pas
débat, au Royaume-Uni comme aux Etats-Unis c’est une pratique très répandue. Pour mieux
comprendre cette pratique, nous allons baser cette recherche sur des guides de pratiques déjà établis et
voir comment il est possible de les transposer au contexte français. Objectif : L’objectif de cette
recherche, en partant d’un guide de pratiques professionnelles étranger, est d’arriver à créer une liste de
compétences de l’ergothérapeute français en néonatologie. Méthode : La recherche d’une priorisation
et d’un consensus sur les compétences spécifiques de l’ergothérapeute en service de néonatologie a
conduit l’auteure à penser son écrit sous la forme d’un groupe de Traitement et Recherche de
l’Information par Animation d’un Groupe d’Expert (TRIAGE). Conclusion : Cette recherche a présenté
des limites qui ont conduit à l’élaboration fictive d’une liste de compétences. En effet, le faible nombre
d’ergothérapeutes pratiquant en néonatologie en France n’a pas permis de réaliser la méthodologie
choisie. Néanmoins, nous avons pu démontrer quelles étaient les compétences indispensables à la
pratique professionnelle, présentes ou non dans le référentiel de compétences des ergothérapeutes
français.

Introduction: Newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) present with specific problems for
which occupational therapists can play a role. Occupational therapists have specific skills in this area.
Outside of France, the presence of occupational therapists in neonatology is not a matter of debate, and
in the United Kingdom and the United States it is a widespread practice. To better understand this
practice, we will base this research on already established practice guidelines and how they can be
transposed into the French context. Objective: The objective of this research, based on a foreign
professional practice guide, is to create a list of competences for French occupational therapists in
neonatology. Method: We have difficulties to applied the method choose but it was described by a
research by design. The method used was Treatment and Research of Information by Animation of an
Expert Group (TRIAGE). This facilitated a prioritization and a consensus on the specific competences
of the occupational therapist in neonatology. Conclusion: This research had limitations. The small
number of occupational therapists practicing in neonatology in France did not allow us to carry out the
chosen methodology. Nevertheless, a comparison of the literature and the approved national occupation
therapy competencies demonstrated which skills were indispensable and how they could be applied in
