La prévention tend à éviter l’apparition de situations de handicap et à améliorer la santé des individus. L’ergothérapeute s’intéresse à la promotion de la santé et du bien-être par l’occupation, avec pour finalité de son accompagnement de favoriser la participation occupationnelle. Ainsi, une démarche de prévention en maternelle, menée par un ergothérapeute, permettrait d’intervenir auprès de tous les élèves pour soutenir leur participation occupationnelle. Le but de cette recherche est d’identifier les perspectives d’intervention de l’ergothérapeute, dans une démarche de prévention primaire, auprès des élèves d’une classe de maternelle, afin de favoriser leur participation occupationnelle.
Pour répondre à cette question, cinq ergothérapeutes ont été interrogées. Au cours des entretiens, les ergothérapeutes ont souligné l’intérêt de la prévention primaire en maternelle, ainsi que les compétences de l’ergothérapeute dans une cette démarche. Elles ont envisagé divers moyens pour favoriser la participation occupationnelle des élèves, tels que la mise en d’ateliers soutenant leur développement global, en utilisant le jeu comme support. Toutefois, elles ont souligné que la mise en œuvre de ces ateliers par l’ergothérapeute est étroitement liée à collaboration efficace avec l’enseignant.
Approfondir la recherche serait pertinent pour identifier comment ces interventions pourraient être mises en place et organisée en France.

Prevention aims to avoid the onset of disability or to improve the health of individuals. Occupational therapists are interested in promoting health and well-being through occupation, with the aim of occupational participation. Thus, a preventive approach in preschool, carried out by an occupational therapist, would make it possible to act with all the students in a perspective of prevention and promotion of their occupational participation. The purpose of this research is to identify the perspectives of intervention of the occupational therapist, in a primary prevention approach, with the students of preschool, to promote their occupational participation.
To answer this question, five occupational therapists were interviewed. Through the interviews conducted, the occupational therapists raised the interest of primary prevention in preschool and the skills of the occupational therapist in such an approach. They planned to use different means to promote the occupational participation of the students, such as workshops that support their global development and the use of games as a support. However, they have highlighted that the implementation of workshops by the occupational therapist is inseparable from an efficient collaboration with the teacher.
It would be interesting to carry out further research to identify how these interventions could be set up and organized in France. - IFE de ROUEN
