Avec l’évolution des paradigmes, la pratique des ergothérapeutes se base davantage sur les occupations. La sexualité, souvent vulgarisée, est pourtant un fondement de l’être humain et fait partie des occupations d’un individu. Sujet tabou et intime, il peut être compliqué pour un ergothérapeute d’aborder la thématique de la sexualité. L’objectif de cette recherche est de savoir si le modèle Ex-PLISSIT peut proposer une méthodologie aux ergothérapeutes souhaitant accompagner un individu dans sa sexualité.
Pour répondre à cette étude, la méthodologie de recherche choisie est une méthode qualitative avec une approche hypothético-déductive. Ainsi, cinq ergothérapeutes Français ont été sollicités grâce à un entretien semi-directif.
La confrontation des données mène à penser que le modèle Ex-PLISSIT peut apporter une méthodologie aux ergothérapeutes ayant peu d’expérience et professionnellement isolé dans la démarche d’accompagnement à la sexualité.

Presently, the practice of occupational therapists has become more occupation-based. Sexuality is a foundation of humans beings and an occupation. Even though, it is often popularized, sexuality can become a taboo and still remains an intimate subject. For this reason, it may be difficult for occupational therapists to address this specific topic. The aim of the study is to determine whether the Ex-PLISSIT model can offer a methodology to occupational therapists who support people in their sexual life. To address this issue, a qualitative research method with hypothetico-deductive approach was used. Five French occupational therapists were interviewed through semi-structured interviews. The combination of theoretical and empirical data shows that Ex-PLISSIT model thus may provide a useful tool in supporting sexuality, especially for inexperienced occupational therapists and professionally isolated.
