Conclusion : Cette recherche

Introduction : While patient-centered care is globally promoted, not all aspects of occupational
therapy interventions are consistently tailored in rehabilitation practices. In this context, the
therapist's creativity can help adapt patient care. Although recognized as a professional resource
that supports patient engagement, its role in empowering patients to cocreate their sessions
remains under-explored. Therefore, this study aims to analyze how occupational therapists
perceive the influence of their creativity on adult patients' engagement in cocreating
rehabilitation sessions. Method : A qualitative approach was used, based on four semistructured individual interviews with occupational therapists working in rehabilitation. The data
collection tool was developed from a conceptual framework linking creativity, engagement,
and cocreation. The interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using a hybrid method:
a hypothetico-deductive analysis via a conceptual matrix, and an inductive analysis following
Braun and Clarke's thematic framework. Results : The results show that creativity is viewed as
an essential part of occupational therapy practice, used to adjust both the therapeutic
relationship and activities. It appears to create a space for patient expression, thereby
encouraging engagement in cocreation. However, cocreation ultimately depends on how much
active space the patient is given within the occupational therapy process. Conclusion: This
study demonstrates that therapist creativity can act as an indirect lever for cocreation by
establishing an environment favorable to patient engagement. It highlights the importance of
recognizing creativity as a core clinical skill that supports adaptation, the therapeutic
relationship, and the active participation of the patient. - IFE TOULON
