De nos jours, l’une des problématiques des patients atteints de la maladie d’Alzheimer et vivant à domicile, est le maintien de leurs occupations. Le but de cette recherche est de comprendre l’intervention de l’ergothérapeute pour aider à maintenir la performance occupationnelle du patient à un stade précoce de sa maladie. Le Modèle Canadien du Rendement et de l’Engagement Occupationnel (MCREO) serait un support pour contribuer à cet objectif. L’enquête a été réalisé à partir de quatre entretiens avec des ergothérapeutes travaillant dans les Equipes Spécialisées Alzheimer (ESA), donc au domicile du patient. Les résultats de cette étude ont exposé le lien existant entre diverses notions abordées dans le MCREO et qui favorisaient le maintien des occupations du patient. Cependant, les ergothérapeutes ne prenaient pas systématiquement appui sur ce modèle. Des recherches plus approfondies seront nécessaires pour recueillir davantage d’avis et de ressenti des professionnels et des patients sur ce sujet.

People suffering from Alzheimer’s disease face many troubles and disabilities in their daily life activities and the problematic is keeping their occupations. This research aims at study how the occupational therapist can help these people to maintain their occupational performance. Regarding this, the OT can use the concepts of the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement (CMOP-E). Four Interviews were passed with occupational therapists who work in different Specialised Alzheimer Team. The results showed the impact of some elements to be considered in order to facilitate the preservation of the patient’s occupations. However, further research is needed to answer this issue about the professional practice linked with the CMOP-E in this population.
