La maladie de Parkinson à début précoce impacte le quotidien des personnes atteintes, mais aussi celui des conjoints aidants, souvent très investis dans l’accompagnement à domicile. Cette implication peut entraîner un déséquilibre occupationnel et affecter leur qualité de vie. Ce mémoire s’intéresse alors au rôle de l’ergothérapeute dans le maintien de l’équilibre occupationnel des conjoints aidants de personnes atteintes de la maladie de Parkinson à début précoce. Une recherche qualitative à visée hypothético-déductive a été menée auprès de quatre ergothérapeutes exerçant en hôpital de jour en soins médicaux et de réadaptation. Des entretiens semi-directifs ont permis de recueillir leurs expériences professionnelles. Les résultats montrent que l’ergothérapie peut soutenir les aidants grâce à des stratégies d’organisation du quotidien, des adaptations de l’environnement et des aides techniques favorisant le maintien des occupations et de la vie à domicile. Ainsi, ce travail met en lumière la nécessité de reconnaître davantage la place des conjoints aidants dans le parcours de soin, afin de favoriser leur bien-être et le maintien de la vie à domicile.

Early-onset Parkinson’s disease affects not only the daily lives of those living with the condition, but also those of their caring spouses, who are often heavily involved in providing care at home. This involvement can lead to an occupational imbalance and affect their quality of life. This thesis examines the role of the occupational therapist in maintaining the occupational balance of spouses caring for people with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. A qualitative, hypothesis-driven study was conducted with four occupational therapists working in a day hospital providing medical and rehabilitation care. Semi-structured interviews were used to gather their professional experiences. The results show that occupational therapy can support carers through strategies for organising daily life, environmental adaptations and technical aids that facilitate the continuation of activities and living at home. Thus, this study highlights the need for greater recognition of the role of spousal carers within the care pathway, in order to promote their well-being and the continuation of living at home.
