L’Accident Vasculaire Cérébral (AVC) est une maladie qui peut provoquer de lourdes séquelles chez la victime. Celle-ci bénéficie alors d’un parcours de soins complet des unités d’urgence jusqu’au retour à domicile. Lorsque le patient rentre à domicile, les séquelles engendrées ont un réel impact sur sa vie quotidienne ainsi que sur celle de son entourage, devenant alors aidant familial. L’ergothérapeute peut jouer un rôle essentiel auprès des aidants familiaux pour favoriser ce retour. Cette recherche vise à étudier si la formation aux gestes et postures proposée par l’ergothérapeute aux aidants familiaux leur permet de préserver leur santé physique après le retour de leur proche à domicile. L’étude se base sur une enquête réalisée au travers d’entretiens semi-directifs et de questionnaires. Les entretiens sont menés directement auprès de quatre ergothérapeutes afin de comprendre leurs interventions vis-à-vis des aidants familiaux. Quant aux six questionnaires reçus, ils sont destinés à recueillir la perception des aidants familiaux sur l’accompagnement accompli par l’ergothérapeute. Cette enquête a permis de démontrer que l’ergothérapeute tient compte des besoins et attentes des aidants pour leur proposer un accompagnement adapté. Ce suivi passe par des séances d’écoute, d’information et des formations et permet aux aidants de préserver leur santé physique. Toutefois, selon les deux populations, la seule formation aux gestes et postures ne leur permet pas. L’accompagnement des aidants familiaux par l’ergothérapeute pourrait être complété par un suivi après le retour au domicile.

Stroke is a disease that can cause severe sequelae in the victim. Right after the stroke the patient benefits from a course of complete care in emergency units until the return home. When the patient returns home, the resulting sequelae have a real impact on daily life as well as on those around them, who become family caregiver. The occupational therapist can play a vital role with family caregivers in order to facilitate this return. This research aims to investigate whether the training course on gestures and postures by the occupational therapist to the family caregivers helps them to preserve their physical health after their loved one returns home. The study is based on a survey conducted through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. Interviews are conducted directly with four occupational therapists to understand their interventions with caregivers. As for the six questionnaires, they are intended to collect the perception of family caregivers on the support provided by the occupational therapist. This survey showed that the occupational therapist takes into account the needs and expectations of caregivers to provide them with appropriate support. This follow-up involves listening, information and training sessions and allows caregivers to preserve their physical health. However, according to both parties, training in gestures and postures only is not sufficient. The support provided by the occupational therapist to the family caregivers could be supplemented by a follow-up after the return home.
