Peu d’études théoriques ont été réalisés sur l’ergothérapie auprès des
personnes Bénéficiaires de la Protection Internationale (BPI). Cette étude a pour
objectif de déterminer si l’utilisation du Modèle de l’Occupation Humaine (MOH) en
ergothérapie favorise la construction de l’identité occupationnelle des personnes BPI
au sein de leur nouvel environnement. L’étude suit une méthode qualitative, dans
laquelle des entretiens semi-directifs ont été réalisés auprès de quatre
ergothérapeutes travaillant auprès de personnes BPI. Une analyse par thématique
a été réalisée. Ces dernières sont l’accompagnement des personnes BPI, la
démarche ergothérapique, l’identité occupationnelle des personnes BPI et l’impact
de l’environnement. Cette étude démontre qu’une démarche ergothérapique est
privilégié à l’utilisation des modèles ergothérapiques, auprès de ce public. L’impact
de l’environnement sur l’identité occupationnelle est démontré. Davantage d’études
pourraient être réalisées au vu de l’émergence de ce sujet au sein de l’ergothérapie.

Few studies are available regarding occupational therapy (OT) for
beneficiaries of international protection (BIP). The purpose of this study is to
ascertain whether the use of the model of human occupation (MHO) in OT promotes
the building of an occupational identity of BIP persons in a new environment. We
conducted a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews with four OT’s. Key
themes emerged from the thematic analysis: the support provides to BIP persons,
the occupational therapy approach, the occupational identity of BIP people, and the
impact of the environment in their daily lives. This study show that an OT approach
was chosen with this population rather than using OT models. The impact of the
environment on the occupational identity was proved. However, no connection could
be made with the use of the MHO or not. Further research should be conducted
regarded the emergence of this study in the OT field. - IFE La Musse
