Les demandeurs d’asile peuvent se retrouver en perte d’identité occupationnelle une fois qu’ils arrivent dans le pays d’accueil au vu de la rupture de leur quotidien. Ce mémoire d’initiation à la recherche a pour objectif d’appréhender l’intérêt de l’approche sociale en ergothérapie auprès des personnes demandeurs d’asile en perte d’identité occupationnelle. Pour ce faire, la méthode qualitative avec l’approche hypothético-déductive a été utilisée. Des entretiens semi-directifs auprès d’ergothérapeutes ont été passés pour recueillir les expériences et points de vue des professionnelles. Une analyse thématique en a découlé où les matrices retenues sont : le processus d’intervention en ergothérapie sociale, l’identité occupationnelle de l’individu, et la rupture occupationnelle de l’individu. L’analyse a permis de montrer que la pluralité de rôles sociaux au sein d’un collectif et la prise en compte de l’impact de la migration aide à la reconstruction de l’identité de l’individu. L’ergothérapie sociale est une pratique innovante, il y a donc peu de littérature, ce qui amène à une des limites principales de ce projet.

Asylum seekers might endure a loss of their occupational identity in the new country because of the rupture of their daily life. The present dissertation aims to ascertain the stake of social occupational therapy with asylum seekers who suffer from a loss of their occupational identity. A qualitative design was used to retrieve experiences and insights of occupational therapists. We conducted a hypothetico-deductive approach through semi-structured interviews. The outcomes brought to light three themes which emerged from the thematic analysis: intervention process of social occupational therapy, occupational identity, and occupational rupture. The findings foster the development of a plurality of societal roles within a collective and a consideration of the impact of migration help the identity’s reconstruction of asylum seekers. Social occupational therapy is an innovative approach. Nevertheless, there are few studies and this conducted a main limitation of this dissertation.
