Introduction : D’après l’HAS, l’Intégration Sensorielle ne fait pas encore partie des approches recommandées, elle est encore sujet à l’étude, bien qu’elle représente une des méthodes utilisées auprès des personnes présentant des TSA ainsi que des troubles sensoriels.
Objectif : L’intérêt de cette étude est d’évaluer l’impact de l’intégration sensorielle auprès de jeunes présentant des TSA. L’idée étant de mettre en exergue le lien entre les comportements problèmes et le rendement occupationnel au travers de cette approche.
Méthodologie : Afin de répondre à cet objectif, 5 ergothérapeutes évoluant auprès d’enfants TSA, formés l’intégration sensorielle, ont été interrogés par le biais d’entretiens semi-dirigés.
Résultats et Analyses : A la suite des divers entretiens, les réponses aux questions posées évoquent un lien entre intégration sensorielle et comportements problèmes qui diminuent et favorisent par la suite le rendement occupationnel. Par ailleurs, les ergothérapeutes ont tous notifié l’importance de la prise en compte de l’unicité de chaque enfant et de la participation des parents.
Discussion et Conclusion : En somme, l’intégration sensorielle pourrait s’avérer être une approche potentielle afin de diminuer les comportements problèmes et ainsi de favoriser le rendement occupationnel. Cependant, il s’agirait d’une approche nécessitant de s’inscrire au sein d’une approche globale. Cette enquête reste incomplète, en effet, celle-ci manque d’éléments de réponse des parents de ces enfants ou de ces derniers quant à l’impact de l’intégration sensorielle.

Introduction : According to the HAS (Health Authority), sensory integration is not yet a part of the recommended approaches. It is in fact still subject to studies even though it is used to help people with ASD and sensory disturbances.
Objective : This study aims at evaluating how sensory integration impacts young people with ASD. The idea of this approach is to highlight the link between challenging behavior and the occupational performance measure.
Methodology : In order to meet the intended purpose, 5 occupational therapists that progressed around children with ASD, having a background in sensory integration, were interrogated by semi-structured interviews.
Results and Analyses : Following different interviews, the answers to the questions asked evoke a link between sensory integration and challenging behaviors that are reduced and that favor the occupational performance measure. Furthermore, all the occupational therapists have brought to light the importance of both the unicity of each child and the parents’ participation.
Discussion and Conclusion : In summary, sensory integration could be a possible and effective approach in reducing challenging behavior and favoring the occupational performance measure. However, this approach needs to be incorporated to a global approach. This investigation is still incomplete. In fact, answers coming from the parents of these children and the children in question are missing to further complete the impact of sensory integration. - UPEC
