L’engagement occupationnel a été reconnu comme facteur de rétablissement du patient schizophrène. En ergothérapie, cet engagement peut être vu comme un moyen thérapeutique ou comme une finalité dans la prise en charge. Pour y parvenir, il est nécessaire d’instaurer une relation thérapeutique avec le patient. Celle-ci dépend en grande partie de la posture professionnelle de l’ergothérapeute. L’objectif de cette étude est de déterminer en quoi la posture professionnelle de l’ergothérapeute favorise l’engagement occupationnel du patient schizophrène en réhabilitation psychosociale. Quatre entretiens semi-directifs ont été menés auprès d’ergothérapeutes exerçant en réhabilitation psychosociale. Les réponses récoltées ont montré qu’une posture basée sur l’écoute, l’empathie mais aussi la bienveillance et la réassurance favorisait l’instauration d’une relation thérapeutique. Ces facteurs, correspondant à la « posture d’accompagnement » énoncée par Maela PAUL, cherchent à établir un juste équilibre entre l’alliance et la distance thérapeutique. Elle est alors à l’origine de l’adhésion thérapeutique du patient et donc du développement de son engagement occupationnel.

Occupation Science has shown a close link between health, well-being and caring of the patient. As a result, occupational involvement has been recognized as a factor of rehabilitation for the schizophrenic patient. In occupational therapy, this commitment can be considered as a therapeutic means during sessions or as an end in medical care. To achieve this, it is above to establish a therapeutic relationship which largely depends on the professional posture of the occupational therapist. The aim of this study is to determine how the professional posture of the occupational therapist promotes the involvement of the schizophrenic patient in psychosocial rehabilitation. In that way, four semi-structured interviews were conducted with occupational therapists working in psychosocial rehabilitation. The answers collected correspond to PAUL Maela's notion of a "supporting posture". The latter is at the origin of the patient's therapeutic adherence and thus of the development of his professional commitment.
