L’ENGAGEMENT OCCUPATIONNEL DES PERSONNES ATTEINTES DE LA MALADIE DE PARKINSON EN EHPAD A TRAVERS LA PRATIQUE DE LA GYMNASTIQUE DOUCE

Ce mémoire explore l’engagement occupationnel des personnes âgées
atteintes de la Maladie de Parkinson (MP) en EHPAD à travers la gymnastique
douce, activité adaptée pouvant être proposée par l’ergothérapeute. La MP affecte
les habiletés motrices et compromet l’autonomie, ce qui peut nuire à l’engagement.
Le Modèle de l’Occupation Humaine (MOH) et son outil d’évaluation, le MOHOST,
permettent d’analyser les freins et les ressources liés à cet engagement. L’étude
s’appuie sur une enquête menée auprès de quatre ergothérapeutes exerçant en
EHPAD. Les résultats révèlent une connaissance partielle du MOH et une sousutilisation
du MOHOST, liés à un manque de temps ou de moyens. Pourtant, les
professionnels soulignent l’intérêt de la gymnastique douce dans le maintien de la
motivation, des habitudes et des capacités motrices des résidents. Ce travail
souligne la pertinence d’une approche occupationnelle pour renforcer l’engagement
des personnes âgées atteintes de MP.

  • This dissertation explores the occupational engagement of elderly people
    with Parkinson Disease (PD) in EHPAD through gentle gymnastics, an adapted
    activity that can be offered by occupational therapists. PD affects motor skills and
    compromises autonomy, which can hinder engagement. The Model Of Human
    Occupation (MOHO) and its assessment tool, the MOHOST, enable us to analyze
    the obstacles and resources associated with this commitment. The study is based
    on a survey of four occupational therapists working in EHPAD. The results reveal a
    partial knowledge of MOH and an under-utilization of MOHOST, linked to a lack of
    time or resources. However, professionals emphasized the value of gentle
    gymnastics in maintaining residents' motivation, habits and motor skills. This work
    underlines the relevance of an occupational approach to strengthening the
    commitment of elderly people with PD.
